**This Giveaway Is Closed!! Still feel free to comments :D!!**

Hey ya’lls!

I have another nail art tutorial for you!

This one is a Half Moon mani, also known as the Reverse French (I first saw it here).

I have to tell you, people will be impressed with this mani. They will be surprised that you did it yourself. They might even remark that you are a trend setter.

That’s what the lady at the gym told me.

Yeah, I was at the gym.

I don’t really want to talk about it.

I want to talk about these nails and this dang GIVEAWAY!

Oh, yes, I said GIVEAWAY…that will be at the end of the post…

for now, it’s mani time!

To make this easy, as I don’t have the steadiest of hands when it comes to intricate painting, I used those “hole reinforcement” stickers you buy at the office supply. They work like magic and make the perfect half moon shape. I like guides and easiness…especially when the results look like this:

Pretty, right? The colors I used were: Essie-Van D’Go (base), Sonia Kashuk-Smoke&Mirrors (ring-finger bling), and Essie-Chinchilly. Below is how to do it!

Some helpful hints:

After you apply the base coat, be sure to let it dry, dry, dry. It needs to be DRY…or those little stickers will just jack everything up and make your polish peel and you will be sad. Trust me, I know.

I only used the Smoke&Mirrors color on my ring finger. It’s a thing, it’s not just me. I like it, it’s makes this already fun mani EVEN MORE FUN. Wow! if you can imagine that. Another thing you could do is the text-thumb thing, you paint your thumbs the fun metallic or glitter so that when you are texting like a maniac, your thumbs will be flashy and fancy. This too, is a thing…again, not just me.

Some tutorials tell you to wait for coat 2 (numero dos!) to dry all the way before peeling off those stickers. I didn’t do that because I thought the sticker would peel the 2nd coat off with it. This worked out for me and I was pleased.

Use a clear, quick-dry topcoat to finish it off and fill in that tiny ridge between the two colors. Smooth and shiny!

For more tips see my previous post.

Soooo pretty, so fun!

***Just a little disclaimer…Essie, Sonia Kashuk, Orly, and SinfulColors don’t know me. All opinions are mine and all purchases were made by me w/ my own dolla bills ya’ll.

  1. My summer obsession is picking/cooking fresh tomatoes and herbs from my garden. They make everything taste so much better, and a capreses salad with fresh tomatoes and basil straight from the garden? DELICIOUS.

  2. My summer obsession is trying new things in the kitchen. I just baked a cake from scratch for the first time ever. Joy the Baker and Tracy from Shutterbean are giving me a TON of inspiration and the boy is enjoying the influx of homemade goodies.

  3. My summer obsession: spending Christmas eating mangoes until I can eat no more, then switching to lychees, then prawns. It’s an Australian thing.

  4. My obsession would have to be summed up in Family…Flowers (in my garden!!) and Fresh fruit…especially blueberries!! And I should probably win this.. it IS my birthday ..hee hee!

  5. I am a fan on facebook, and I shared the post because people will love it :) My summer obsession by the way is strawberry infused vodka- my sister made it this past weekend, and I don’t think I will be able to stop myself from drinking it every weekend now. Think they’d let me drink it at work? Yeah, I didn’t think so either ;)

  6. My summer obsession is checking on our garden. My hubby planted our first one this year and at least once a day sometimes 3 or 4 times I check it to see if anything can be picked or died. :)

  7. I am absolutely in love with cooking from complete scratch for everything this summer! All of the fresh veggies and fruit from the farmer’s market make me want to make delicious things… Also I have gotten on the nail art bandwagon after hearing the Joy the Baker podcast and I just can’t stop! Love it :)

  10. Summer obsession this year is making ice cream! We just got a new ice cream maker and I have been wearing the thing out. My body however, does not thank me when it’s time to put on a bathing suit.

  11. My summer obsession is fresh fruits and veggies! YUM! And now these beautiful nail polish colors as well, thanks to you! Great post.

  12. What a nice giveaway…thank you! I’ve been totally impressed with the mad nail skillz you’ve been showing off lately. This cool mani looks like something I could manage, so I might give it a try.

Some of my obsessions this summer have been: Breaking Bad, glitter polish, Rancho Gordo beans, Hoarders (OMG!), Words with Friends, podcasts, Cafe Du Monde coffee and thinking a lot about canning and making pies without actually getting around to trying either.

  13. My summer obsession is the mushroom melt with mayo, onions and Italian seasoning from Potbelly’s. There are no stores where I go to school, so I’ve had a rather embarrassing amount of sandwiches while I’m staying with my parents.

  14. Wow I’m obsessed with Iced Chai Tea Lattes from Starbucks and painting my nails :(
Even during the super busy school year, my nails are never NOT painted
