White Chocolate Marble Dipped Cookies
Serves: about 15 cookies
This fun marbled white chocolate technique is quick and easy enough to do with kids!
  • 15 cookies of your choosing (I used Milanos and Oreo Thins)
  • 1, 11 oz, bag white chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • gel food colors of your choosing
  • candy sprinkles eyeballs (optional)
  1. Place your cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet and freeze for at least one hour, until very cold.
  2. Leave the cookies in the freezer while you melt the white chocolate. Place the white chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl along with the coconut oil. Microwave on high for 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until the white chocolate is melted. Stir until completely smooth. Spoon 3 tablespoons of the white chocolate into a bowl (or bowls if you are marbling more than one color). Stir in food gel, a little at a time, until you achieve a color you like. Drizzle the colored white chocolate over the larger bowl of plain white chocolate and swirl with a knife or toothpick.
  3. Remove the cookies from the freezer and set aside. Set up another baking sheet with parchment (for easy clean-up), then set a wire cooling rack on top. Dip the cookies, one at a time, by gently pressing them into the marbled white chocolate and flip gently with a fork--I find that you get better marbling if you do a shallow dip, so resist the urge to plunge the cookies into the white chocolate. Using the tines of a fork, lift the cookie out of the white chocolate and set on the wire rack to drain. Once you've dipped and drained all of the cookies, move them over to the original parchment lined baking sheet (the one you froze the cookies on) and chill until the marble coating is firm.
  4. To make the mummies: After dipping and transferring from the rack to the baking sheet, affix the candy eyes to the cookies with a dab of white chocolate, then drizzle each cookie with the white chocolate--I think they look best if you get some "bandages" around the eyes, but be careful not to cover the eyes completely.
I tried this with white chocolate chips, white chocolate melting discs, and fancy chopped white chocolate. I felt like the chips and discs worked best in terms of texture and finish.
